MRS. AMERICA 2010, Andrea Robertson, along with her fellow 2009 MRS. WORLD PAGEANT Delegates, arrived at the Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Hồ Chí Minh City, Vietnam for the 2009 MRS. WORLD PAGEANT, and were greeted by local resident-fans and well-wishers.
Hồ Chí Minh City, formerly known as “Saigon,” was renamed “Hồ Chí Minh City” by the unified communist Socialist Republic of Vietnam after the Vietnam War on May 1, 1975. Hồ Chí Minh City, along with its joint provinces, has the largest population in Vietnam of over 9 million residents, and is known as the “Capital of Motorbikes”. The city has a tropical climate, specifically a tropical wet and dry climate, with an average humidity of 75%. The rainy season, with an average rainfall of about 71 inches annually, approximately 150 rainy days per year, usually begins in May and ends in late November.
The 2009 MRS. WORLD PAGEANT Delegates were transported by bus from Hồ Chí Minh City to The Imperial Hotel in Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu, Vietnam. Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu is an east province of Vietnam, and is an important tourist destination, being particularly well known for its beaches, for its French colonial-era architecture, influenced by the French during their colonial occupation of Vietnam in 1859.
The 2009 MRS. WORLD PAGEANT was broadcast live from the Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu SPORTS CENTER.
