Volunteerism was instilled in me at a very young age.  My family has always had a strong passion to serve others.  My love for Special Olympics started over 18 years ago when I attended my first local summer games.  I was amazed by the ability of the athletes and the love they shared with me.  I met an athlete that day named Shannon.  She stole my heart and sparked my dedication for Special Olympics.  My years of volunteering, advocating and fundraising opened a door for my career at the International Headquarters in Washington, DC.  I had the wonderful opportunity to not only meet, but work beside my greatest role model, Eunice Kennedy Shriver.   
 
I was blessed to find a husband who has the same passion for family and heart to help others.  While life has dealt us many curve balls, it has only made us stronger as a couple.  We continue to dream , have faith and strive for happiness.
