I have been married to Ryan for seven years, and we have a beautiful four-year-old daughter, Hayden.  When she was diagnosed with the disease cystic fibrosis at birth, my husband made a decision for our family that I will never forget.    He said that we were NOT going to be a "woe is me" family.  We were going to be a joyful, happy family, no less grateful for the blessings in our lives than before the diagnosis.  He made it clear that we were not going to let our daughter or our family be defined by her disease.  Instead we were going to educate ourselves, raise awareness, and take care of Hayden to the best of our abilities, all the while spreading a message of hope.  Today, Hayden is thriving.  She is an extremely active, social and happy little girl and I am so grateful that my husband was such an amazing leader for our family when we needed him the most.
