Career: 10th Grade English Teacher

I am a wife to Shawn and a mother to Layla, and together we reside in my beautiful hometown, Chanute, where I am a secondary educator, and my husband is a firefighter and staff Sergeant for the United States Air Force. While the service has taken us to many unique places, we were ecstatic to celebrate a very special milestone this July; we lived together in the same state for an entire year, without being separated by a deployment! Of course, my connection with the military birthed my passion for the USO in supporting our men and women who serve.  I would love to have the opportunity on a national level to give children as well as adults a way to demonstrate their appreciation through fundraising, volunteering, and by just saying "thank you." Living the words "thank you" means seeking out those men and women and telling them how much we love living in a free America; I feel this truly is my calling.
