HOME TOWN: NORTHFIELD
CAREER: TV JOURNALIST
As an award winning television journalist, I have had the honor of meeting four U.S. Presidents while covering world events. Whether I’m flying with the Red Barons or covering Superbowls, it’s been a thrilling career allowing me the opportunity to tell the stories of truly extraordinary people.
It doesn’t compare though, to life with my amazing husband John who I was blessed to marry 6 years ago. He is the best! Our very inquisitive son Johnny is 4 1/2 years old and our dare devil daughter Ali just turned two. They are a riot and are growing up far too quickly. Did I mention our 17 pound cat, Mac?
Love, support and guidance enable children to become people of substance. That’s why I am a court appointed advocate for abused children through CASA. It is incredibly humbling to serve the best interests of children while we navigate the courts in search of permanent homes for them.
The privilege of being Mrs. Illinois has given me an even stronger voice to speak up for children who cannot speak for themselves. It is an honor to represent the Land of Lincoln and our wonderful married women. There is much work to be done and so much to celebrate! |
