Career: Artist & Executive Director, The World Poetry Agency

In a crowded poetry café in 2002, I saw my future husband perform and knew together we could change the world. During the first years of our wonderful marriage we began to recognize a dire need for quality school and after-school programming. With our combined affinity for the arts and concern for children we founded a non-profit organization, The World Poetry Agency. Our mission is to increase efficacy, literacy skills and self-esteem in youth through the education of poetry, music and other art forms.
 
When I’m not conducting workshops or performing, I enjoy spending time in my husband’s music studio, reading and keeping our dog away from our cat. I look forward to meeting everyone in Tucson during this unique experience. With God as my guide, my husband by my side, I empower lives while proudly representing the Nation’s Capital!
