I believe that if you set a goal and put forth the dedication to accomplish it that anything is possible which was proven when I was announced as Mrs. Wyoming 2012 which I am forever grateful for.
A college graduate from the University of Wyoming, I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. While obtaining my degree, I also studied American Sign Language and Deaf Studies at the University. As an advocate for the deaf and hard of hearing, I have had the opportunity to travel nationally and worldwide to educate others to bring about awareness of the deaf community. This is a passion of mine and I hold it close to my heart! In addition, I work in Outreach for the Wyoming Cancer Resource Services. My mission as Mrs. Wyoming 2012 along with being a voice for the deaf is to increase the number of citizens being screened for cancer, to reduce cancer incidence through education and provide patient navigation services throughout the continuum of care for those with a cancer diagnosis and their families. Through being proactive and educated, Cancer can be prevented and beaten!!
My husband and love of my life, Keegan and I share our home with our two Chihuahuas that we consider to be our children; Nala who is 4 and Patch who is 9. They are our little monsters! We hope to one day expand our family but until then, these little ones keep us on our toes!
In closing, I believe that it is not the crown on ones’ head, nor is it the banner that one wears across their chest, but about the title and how it can be used for positive and wonderful things! Life has so many amazing journey’s to embark on and I am lucky enough to experience this ‘Once in a lifetime Opportunity’ as your Mrs. Wyoming 2012.
