Lynn Maggio was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama and she still calls this idyllic southern city home. Growing up, she was the baby of the family with two older brothers and a sister to look up to.
Her first marriage brought her three handsome boys: Dillon, Devin and Dustin, but Lynn never imagined that she would face becoming a single parent. And, as she was picking up the pieces following her divorce, she was dealt another harsh card. Her sister was dying of cancer and Lynn also had cancerous cells that needed to be removed through a medical procedure. But there was light at the end of her tunnel. At a Mardi Gras party with friends she met a handsome man who was in Alabama only for a brief medical residency. Tony & Lynn were inseparable from that moment on. After their fairytale wedding in 2004, the Maggio’s yearned to grow their new blended family, but Lynn was no longer able to have children of her own. Three years passed, but finally they were blessed with twins Michael and Marcus through a surrogate and adoption. Then 9 months ago they also adopted a baby girl into their brood, Isabella. Sadly, Lynn’s mother never got to meet Isabella. But Lynn knows that she is smiling down on her from heaven, proud of what Lynn has been able to accomplish.
Lynn’s passion is educating other families about the power of adoption as an advocate for the Independent Adoption Center. She feels that not only is adoption a great reward for families seeking children, but also for the women who find themselves in unplanned or crisis pregnancies. It’s a wonderful gift to connect children with loving families. When she’s not speaking at an adoption fundraiser or event, you’ll find Lynn modeling on the catwalk, or on the red carpet interviewing celebrities, filmmakers and musicians. She’s also a singer/songwriter. Her first music video “If I Can Do It, You Can Do It Too” was just produced this year and she’s back in the studio recording her next single. Some people say you can’t have it all, but Lynn says, “Why not?” |
