At the tender age of eighteen I met my future husband Allen. Ten months later we became husband and wife. Six years later we welcomed our first son Cameron and waited another four years to greet his brother Jordan. On April 9th, while competing at the Mrs. America Pageant, my husband and I will be celebrating 23 years of wedded bliss! Okay, let’s be real here… it hasn't been all bliss, but it has been an adventure-filled, loving, committed marriage that I am blessed to have.My greatest achievements have all been accomplished as a married woman. Through our solid marriage I have been given the support I needed to unlock my potential and reach my goals. From competing in marathons and triathlons; starting my own business and writing a book; to being a lead vocalist in a band with my husband as the drummer, he has been there every step of the way to encourage me and give me the freedom to succeed."In every woman there is a Queen waiting to be crowned"- but it was not my dream to just win a pageant and wear a crown!

My dream has been to make a difference, by inspiring others to achieve success in their lives and to become all that they have the potential to be. Being a part of the Mrs. America family and representing my state allows me the opportunity to fulfill this dream. This amazing experience, along with the friendships I make and the knowledge I gain, will positively influence me as a leader to continue to share my platform “Unlock Your Potential”.I am Lisa Bluhm your Mrs. Washington America 2011!
