“Dance as if no one were watching, Sing as if no one were listening, and Live every day, as if it were your last.”
Dr. William W. Purkey
I could not believe that my name was called to be the new Mrs. Massachusetts. Looking out at the audience seeing my family and friends so excited and proud was what made the day even more special. I am so honored to be representing my home State of Massachusetts at the 2011 Mrs. America Pageant.Being married to my high school sweetheart for 21 years is a true testament that love and commitment really do make a strong marriage. I have always been told that my husband puts me on a pedestal; but really it has been him standing by my side that has made me the woman I am today. Together we are blessed with 3 beautiful children now young adults: Alicia (20), Erika (17) and Benjamin (15). It is hard to believe that I am at the point in my life that I have had to let go and let them live their own lives but they make me the proudest mom. My family means the world to me but my MOM is my rock. If it were not for her I would not be the woman or mother I am today. As I prepare to take this journey to Mrs. America I will take with me all I have learned from my beautiful family and the spirit of the married women of Massachusetts.
