Like many young girls, I dreamed of being crowned Miss America and someday walking down the aisle to the man of my dreams. Well I never competed for Miss America, but today, as a happily married wife and mother, I am so proud to be the newly-crowned Mrs. Georgia and a contender in the Mrs. America Pageant.
In 2005, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I was devastated and thought my dreams were over. My husband and I were just dating at the time, but he proved to me that true love is without conditions. I made up my mind that I may have been diagnosed with MS but I was not going to let it define my destiny.
I first competed for Mrs. Georgia in 2008. I am so excited to finally be here today! With great humility, dedication and a true appreciation of the responsibility of this title, I will send a message of hope and inspiration, through my journey, and encourage the women of Georgia and throughout America to rise above the obstacles that get in the way and live your dreams! |
