Winning the title of Mrs. District of Columbia and representing married women of America, was an
extraordinary life experience that momentarily took my breath away and is ultimately humbling. As
Mrs. District of Columbia, I will continue in my efforts to promote the importance of family values and
advocate healthcare and policy issues on behalf of the elderly American population. Being raised by
my grandmother, I was strongly impacted by a remarkable woman who on a daily basis supported
her husband, 21 children, friends, and anyone else in the community that needed help. Her strength,
compassion and devotion to others despite her aging years inspired me dearly. I dedicate my life to my
supporting husband, two lovely sons and working to assist the elderly.
I started the organization, Helping Our Seniors and became a Certified Senior Advisor to advance the
care for seniors, the disabled and any American citizen who may need assistance in securing quality
healthcare. I would be honored to have the title of Mrs. America 2011 and further the work to advocate
on behalf of roughly 16 million elderly Americans and other citizens in need.
