I have always taught my daughters, anything worth doing is worth doing 110%. Being awarded the title of Mrs. Alaska America 2011 was a humbling and unbelievable experience. My family has always described me as “the son my dad always wanted“. I grew up fishing, hunting, camping and exploring this amazing place that I call home. In 2007 I got married to my wonderful husband Matt who is from Australia, I affectionately call him my “import“. My entire family adores Matt as does my now 8-year old daughter, Elizabeth; she loves to call him "Daddy Matt". Matt, I and Elizabeth are thrilled with our newest addition to the family, Kaitlyn-8 months old. The girls keep us extremely busy but we always find time to go cheer on our local professional hockey team the Alaska Aces, we are avid fans! When I'm not busy running my salon you can find me and the family fishing on the world famous Kenai River where I captain my own boat. My personal philosophy on life...Time is something that you can‘t get back, so make every minute count! When I'm 100 years old I want to look back on my life and say “I did that and IT WAS AMAZING”. |
